Grandrob's Little Ditty |
I have to post again because I did no updating on the last post, and quite a lot of time has passed since the last post.
Halloween: It was cold, and about twenty minutes into the long walk, both Selena and I had to go to the bathroom, and so we backtracked to Dereke's house. After looking for the group for about twenty minutes, beana and I gave up looking for them. Robbie was a scary skeleton with a bloody, bleeding mask. Selena was a princess (snow white or cinderella, I can't really recall). I tried to talk Janae into letting Samantha be a marshmallow, but in the end, like always, I lost. She was a moo-cow at first, but went #2 and made a big mess. She eventually went as the same puppy that Robbie did on his first halloween. Janae went as a... I think it was a bird mask... not sure exactly. She reminded me of the owl people from Skettis in 'World of Warcraft'. Janae painted my face up to look like Paul Stanely of Kiss... she did a great job.
Thanksgiving: We weren't invited to my brother Nick's house for Thanksgiving like the rest of the family (though Dereke and his clan couldn't make it for other reasons). I made Thanksgiving dinner, which was an excellent meal with my immediate family and my best hoser TJ. Dinner was about done when the most unexpected thing happened, my mom & dad showed up. It was finally over! I have my dad back. Things feel a little awkward still, but at least I can talk to him and go over to the house I grew up in again.
December: Robbie & Selena have both had their Christmas plays for this year. Robbie's was great, even featuring a song called, I believe, "the turkey woogie". It was a riot to see all the kids dancing like a turkey and singing their hearts out. They all did a great job. Selena's class stuck to the same pre-school program as last year, so we were once again treated to a laugh as all of the little "reindeer" "shook their fluffy tailes". They did a great job as well.
Through much spending and work, we have finished Christmas shopping (actually, we still need to get something for my neice Leia, but we will do that soon). With Christmas only 5 days away, I'm getting excited. It's not like it was when I was a kid and looking forward to presents of my own. Much more exciting is seeing my kids' faces when they wake up and see what Santa has left for them. And this is Samantha's first Christmas. I can't wait.
We are having a few money issues thanks to the holiday's, and we would have liked to do better for the kids, but I think they'll have a pretty good Christmas this year. I guess we know who to thank for that (thank you God).
Christmas Eve will mark the 9 year anniversary of the day Janae and I finally became a couple. Some people will say that love at first sight does not exist, but for me it definitely does. The first time I saw Janae (and a certain, shall we say "chesty" aspect of her, I fell immediately in love). Now nine years later, through our fair share of ups and downs, we are ready to enter our ninth year together. And next year? Well, let's just say that I have a few idea to make the tenth anniversary extra special. I'd be lying if I said that everyday was great, but most of them are, and I'm glad to be sharing my life with the one person that I truely believe that God put on this Earth for me. Just another thing in a long line of things to thank the Lord for.
Well, I guess I'll get this posted now. I'm actually working on a new book, and on 'The Stranger Within', so let's just say that I have plenty of typing to do.
Until next time... I'm Rob, and you are whoever you are.

Here Again, it's Me! |
Hello everybody. The year is quickly coming to an end. I know, it's sad and you are all going to cry for 2007, who was only a new born baby on January 1st, but is now an old and dying man (or is it a woman?). Well I can promise you that you will have memories of 2007 that will last a lifetime, and 2008 will only bring you more.
Now, I did have a point for making this post. I have just finished compiling my list of top 100 favorite albums of all time. Rather than going through the almost impossible task of putting these in some type of numerical order from favorite to least, I decided to alphabatize by album title. My plan is to review every one of these albums in the near future. I put a limit of 3 cd's for any given band. But for now, here is that list:
